Dear conductors, dear singers,

Welcome to the 11th International Choir Championship “Lege Artis” 2026 Tuzla.

With the wish that you feel comfortable in Tuzla, the “city on a grain of salt”, during your participation in the two-day choir competition, we are providing useful information and final instructions related to the competition.

ARRIVAL AND CONDITIONS AT THE COMPETITION VENUE

  1. Competition venue address:
Bosnian Cultural Center of Tuzla Canton Tuzla (BKC TK),
Mije Keroševića Guje Street 3, 75000 Tuzla
    https://bkctuzla.ba/
  2. Upon arrival at the competition, buses and minibuses may drop off performers in front of the entrance to BKC TK and may then park at the Bingo City Center parking lot (BCC), https://tuzla.bingocitycenter.ba/, which is located nearby, or at one of the city parking areas for buses.
  3. Each ensemble will be assigned volunteer guides, who will welcome you at BKC TK and whom you may contact for any needs. The volunteers will exchange phone numbers with group leaders and conductors in order to ensure the timely and smooth flow of the competition program. Please provide at least two phone numbers so that we can always reach you.
  4. Upon arrival at BKC, the conductor or group leader should submit the sheet music to Andrea Ilić, a member of the Organizing Committee: five identical sets of the registered competition compositions within the registered category, arranged in the order of performance.

In the same set, as the final item, please also include the sheet music for one composition that the ensemble will perform if selected for the final concert of the Championship — the sing-off for the main award, the “Golden Lyre”, i.e. the winner of the 11th International Choir Championship “Lege Artis” 2026 Tuzla, which will be held on 24 May 2026 at 19:00.

It is also necessary to make the competition donation payment or submit proof of payment to the above-mentioned member of the Organizing Committee.

  1. Each ensemble will be assigned a dressing room, i.e. a changing area within BKC TK. Since some choirs will share the space during the competition day, after the performance it is necessary to leave the dressing room so that choirs performing later in the day can prepare for their appearance.
  2. Ensembles may leave their robes/costumes in the dressing rooms from the time of the sound check until their performance. Please take care of your personal belongings, as we cannot guarantee responsibility for lost items.
  3. There will be two rows of choir risers and a semi-concert piano on stage. A conductor’s stand will be available on the stage of the Great Hall of BKC TK Tuzla, and we kindly ask each conductor to use it as needed.
  4. Entrance to the stage is from the right side behind the stage, and exit is from the left side behind the stage. After the performance, ensemble members may return to the hall to listen to the other competition performances, but only during ensemble changeovers.

FIRST COMPETITION DAY – 23 May 2026, Saturday

  1. The sound check will take place according to the schedule. Please adhere to the scheduled time and arrive in the hall at least 15 minutes before your time slot in order to leave your belongings and prepare for the rehearsal. The sound check begins at 8:30.
  2. Ensemble performances within the competition categories will take place according to the schedule. Please note that performance times are approximate, and we ask all performers to be ready for their performance 20 minutes before the scheduled time. Changes may occur due to unforeseen circumstances, and we kindly ask for your understanding.
  3. At 19:00, a showcase concert will be held. At the showcase concert of the first competition day, all choirs/ensembles performing that day will present two compositions each. Our wish is for the performers to have the opportunity to listen to one another, so ensembles will come to the stage from the audience. We kindly ask conductors to ensure that singers in the hall are seated or standing in the formation in which they usually enter the stage.
  4. At the showcase concert of the first competition day, choirs/ensembles will perform one composition, which may be freely chosen by the conductor, and for which it is not necessary to submit sheet music.

Dear performers, we remind you that awards are an important, but not the most important aspect of events such as this one. What matters most are the best performances of each ensemble and the satisfaction of our singers with the progress they have achieved. And, of course, friendship and togetherness. In that spirit, we invite you to experience this competition as a celebration of choral music.

Once again,

WELCOME
